Commercial terms
Payment terms, discount, credit limit, minimum order — the fields every policy carries.
Returns, pricing floors, territories, credit and payment terms — stated in one place, inherited by layer, and enforced at the point of the order.
A policy is the terms, written once. The network sets the floor, a role sets its defaults, a partner can be given an override — in that order, and never looser than the layer above. Nobody has to remember the exception, because the order checks it.
Terms, inherited by layer.
The terms nobody in the network can go under.
What a distributor, a dealer or an agent gets unless told otherwise.
The exception for one partner, written down and dated.
Policies retired but kept, for the orders that ran under them.
Write the floor. Add role defaults. Overrides are the exceptions, not the rule.
Payment terms, discount, credit limit, minimum order — the fields every policy carries.
Window, condition, who pays freight, restock or credit.
A minimum sell price per item or category that nothing below can undercut.
Where a partner may sell. Written on the policy, checked on the order.
Floor, role, partner — the order of inheritance, shown on the policy.
On the partner, see which policy governs them and where each term came from.
Move a partner to a different policy. Orders from then on use the new one.
An order that breaks a term — under floor, out of territory, over credit — is flagged or held.
How long a registered deal is protected, and who adjudicates a clash.
The rate and the trigger — on order, on payment — by role.
Edit a policy and the previous version is kept with the orders that used it.
Each network has its own set. A partner in two networks trades on two policies.
